These offences are part of capital crime which, I don’t think, will be committed by any foreigner. However a person whom you meet here might do it. That may affect your peaceful living here also.

Note that now the value of Thai money has decreased a lot. To mention punishment with a fine looks very small, being not proportionate with the imprisonment. Usually the court tends to inflict imprisonment rather than fine. The offences of public danger are as follows :
1. Arson is the first of its kind provided in section 217 as whoever sets fire on the property of another person maliciously e.g., you put fire on the bag of your friend, you are guilty under this section, punishable with imprisonment from six months to seven years. The more important the property is, the heavier the punishment. Burning other person’s house may be imprisoned for life or even death, for example. Preparation to commit an arson results in the same punishment as committing it.

2. It is guilty even to put fire on your own property if is likely to harm other persons’ property or likely to injure other persons. It is guilty even if the fire was caused by your negligence. The imprisonment is as high as seven years.

3. 6.3. Another offence is in connection with explosion if it is likely to cause harm to thee public. The punishment for that is quite high depending upon its results, ranging three years to life imprisonment. 4. Another offence likely to be committed by a foreigner is in connection with his/her design, or control, or construction or removal of a building or other construction if he/she dose not comply with the rule or method of the profession to the effect that it is likely to cause harm to other persons. The punishment is likely to as high as five years.
