There are a few courts where an affected person may submit his plaint depending upon the type of the case.
(1) If it is a personal debt (jurisdiction in personam) such as to claim back the money that you lent to man, you may submit it either to the court of defendant’s domicile or to the court where the cause of action arose. If the defendant is domiciled on the outside of the kingdom, the plaint can be submitted to the court where the defendant’s executable property is situated.
(2) If it is a request, such as the request for an order of the court to adjudge a person to be incapacitated, he shall submit it to the court where the cause of action arose. However, a request for an order to appoint an administrator of estate which is also a request, but the law requires the plaintiff to submit it to the court where the de cuju (owner of the estate) was domiciled on the outside of the kingdom, the request could be submitted to the court where
his estate is situated.
(3) The plaint concerning an immovable property (jurisdiction in rem), such as the plaint to enforce a mortgage, is to be submitted either to the court where the property is located or the court of the defendant’s domicile.
(4) If the defendant is domiciled in a foreign country, plaintiff may submit his plaint either to the court where the case of action arose or the court where the property of the defendant is situated, such as the court where the defendant’s marine ship is docked.
(5) If the case of action arose in a Thai ship or Thai air – plane outside the kingdom, the plaint can be submitted to the Civil Court, which is located on Rajadapisek Road in Bangkok.
