A 33-year-old Chinese tourist and member of a larger tour group had a gold necklace worth an estimated 60,000 Baht snatched from around his neck by a ladyboy Saturday evening.| The robbery took place at about 9.30 p.m., no, not on the dimly lit beach promenade but in front of the Grand Sole Hotel on Pattaya Second Road.
According to Pattaya One, the tour group had been strolling along the busy main road when Mr Jang Jinsheng was suddenly approached by a ladyboy who “pushed him, snatched his gold necklace […] and ran off.”
The suspect then quickly jumped onto the back of a waiting motorcycle, driven by another ladyboy, and sped off into the chaotic night traffic of Pattaya. While police will now examine CCTV footage in an attempt to identify and catch the suspects (good luck with that) Mr Jang was understandably fed up to the back teeth with his first visit to Pattaya and “doubted his group would ever return to Thailand after their experience.”
