Offences  relating  to  property,  like  the  law  of  most  other  countries,  consist  of  several  instances:
1.  Taking  away  another  person’s  property  dishonestly  is  guilty  of  stealing,  punishable  with  imprisonment  not  more  than  three  years  and  fine  not  more  than  six  thousand  baht.
If  the  stealing  is  committed  in  an  aggravated  environment,  such  as  stealing  at  night  or  in  the  place  of  fire  or  breaking  a  barricade  or  climbing  in  the  window  or  disguising  himself  or  impersonating  another  person  etc.,  the  punishment  for  that  is  heavier.  However,  if  the  stealing  is  committed  because  of  necessity  or  uncontrollable  poverty  and  the  property  is  of  small  value,  the  court  may  impose  punishment  on  the  offender  with  a  lower  punishment  than  that  prescribed  by  law.
If  stealing  committed  by  taking  away  in  presence  of  the  damaged  person,  it  is  called  snatching,  the  punishment  is  heavier  than  a  normal  theft.
If  stealing  is  committed  by  using  force  or  threatening  to  use  force,  it  is  called  robbery,  punishable  with  much  higher  imprisonment – from  five  years  to  file  imprisonment  depending  upon  the  degree  of  aggravation  of  the  act,  and;
If  the  robbery  is  committed  by  three  or  more  person,  it  is  called  gang – robbery,  the  punishment  for  that  is  much  higher,  probably  life  imprisonment  or  death,  depending  upon  the  act  or  its  result.
